Jim Jarmush, neste filme, embora o ritmo seja demasiado vagaroso, mantém-nos interessados na acção até ao final. Excelentes representações e realização de uma história simples: 3 homens, com histórias de vida diferentes encontram-se numa prisão de Louisiana.

Com imagens captadas de forma espectacular, este filme transporta-nos para dentro do circuito das 24 Horas de Le Mans, sendo hoje reconhecido o seu valor e pioneirismo, embora na altura tenha sido um fracasso de bilheteiras, com prejuízo para McQueen, que tinha investido muito do seu dinheiro pessoal nas filmagens (que se arrastaram por mais de um ano, tendo despedido o primeiro realizador).
