Com imagens captadas de forma espectacular, este filme transporta-nos para dentro do circuito das 24 Horas de Le Mans, sendo hoje reconhecido o seu valor e pioneirismo, embora na altura tenha sido um fracasso de bilheteiras, com prejuízo para McQueen, que tinha investido muito do seu dinheiro pessoal nas filmagens (que se arrastaram por mais de um ano, tendo despedido o primeiro realizador).

Darling (1965)

A história de Diana Scott, uma jovem que usa a beleza de forma despudorada para ascender socialmente. Contudo, as coisas parecem não correr como planeado e a superficialidade com que encara as relações acaba por se transformar em frustração. Os papéis são magnificamente interpretados e fazem deste filme um clássico do período dos "Swinging Sixties", da emancipação feminina, e da liberdade sexual levada ao limite. Destaque para o perfil psicológico dos personagens.

Bullitt (1968)

Este filme é um clássico policial, mas aquilo que seria um argumento simples é transformado de forma magistral num thriler de intriga e mistério, perseguição e fuga, numa excelente realização capaz de nos manter colados à acção. Steve McQueen é Bullit, um polícia encarregue de assegurar a protecção  a uma importante testemunha que vai a julgamento para desvendar uma importante rede tentacular. Mas nem tudo o que parece é, e a partir daqui desenrola-se a acção. Um clássico.

Shadows (1959)

Nova Iorque nos anos 50. O jazz. No seu primeiro filme, Cassavetes mostra-nos a vida de um grupo de jovens novaiorquinos de classe baixa com o jazz como pano de fundo. Uma jovem, com dois irmãos super-protectores é disputada por dois homens no início da sua sexualidade. As questões raciais e o sexo estão bem presentes, diluidas na temática de uma juventude deambulante, perdida. Excelentes desempenhos, excelente argumento e realização. Um filme histórico.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)

Talvez fosse justo dizer que este filme é tão bom ou melhor que o Melancolia e que também poderia ser considerado o melhor de 2011. Embora com um argumento simples, este thriler explora bem a história enquanto vai enriquecendo humanamente os personagens do primeiro ao último minuto. A crueldade do final é um choque, apesar de até lá nos ir sempre surpreendendo e mantendo presos à acção. A tradução que fizeram do título original é algo que deveria ofender todos os portugueses. David Fincher acaba por não desiludir.

Talvez o melhor filme de 2011. Um casamento decorre e deteriora-se, enquanto a Terra se prepara para o fim do mundo. Excelente realização e interpretações. Kirsten Dunst, num desempenho excelente. Lars Von Trier mantém a qualidade padrão dos seus filmes.

Drive (2011)

Um duplo de cinema e mecânico envolve-se com uma mulher casada, deparando-se com inúmeros problemas e crises em catadupa. Uma boa história, um bom desempenho dos actores e da realização, uma boa banda sonora e um excelente aproveitamento daquilo que é à partida um argumento pobre. Um dos melhores de 2011, e que não é melhor porque a história é um cliché.
